Notes on iOS update 1.0.6 and Android
By Jason on December 16, 2016
When I began work on the iOS version of Happy Wheels, I questioned whether or not it would be accepted into the App Store at all. I found examples of bleeding limbs, gibs, blood explosions and screams in iOS games, but no one example seemed to put all these effects together like Happy Wheels does. Also, at the time, the App Store guidelines were intentionally vague in places, "What is objectionable content? We know it when we see it." So I submitted our little game and breathed a sigh of relief when it was accepted with a 12+ age rating.
However, the App Store and its guidelines are living, breahting entities that change over time. Eventually one of our updates was reviewed by someone who felt the violence was not "cartoon/fantasy", but "realistic", requiring an age rating of 17+ (and banishment from the Brazilian App Store–Sorry, Brazil!). We didn't love this as many Happy Wheels players are below the age of 17, but we went along with it and really nothing seemed to change. Goody.
But then the App Store issued an objection which was not as easily remedied: inury to Irresponsible Dad's child. We were always a bit concerned that this might be an issue and if so, how would we work around it? We ended up going with the obvious solution which was to disable injury to the child. Before anyone throws their arms up in angry protest, I suggest you try it. The child can fall off the bike and will ragdoll, but always remains intact. If you find this lack of violence utterly offensive, let us know. We're considering an alternate solution.
Because of the aforementioned changes, it was easy to implement the option to remove blood/gore from all characters. This option can be found in the Option > Advanced Options. This was request made by a few people... very few.
With that out of the way, the update 1.0.6 also includes levels 1-5 for Wheelchair Guy.
I am actively working on the Android version. After other solutions failed, I decided to go with a pure C++ rewrite of the code. This is unfortunately the best, but slowest solution. At this point, I've got the base characters working as well as couple of the vehicles. It's a good start, but it's still a ways off. Sorry about that. I'd give a more specific timeframe, but I would be guessing and probably inaccurately.
Jim says that he'll update the blog soon.

Looking on the wiki at the "Longest Thread" post we had sure brings back the good ol' days. I love how way back in 2012 we were saying the forums would be back soon. If only we knew!
By ACHIEVERjunior on April 15, 2017
Hah, god the forums, that takes me back. Remember when we figured out how to make our own little private forum by changing the url? Good times
By The Unique One on April 14, 2017
I would think the ability to disable injury of characters to be the best and easiest solution, regardless of the few people requesting it.

@blueawsomekid and @armygamerofwar,
I think that the level limit is actually a good thing, as it massively decreases the amount of spam levels that are being created, of which there are already way too much with the limit in place.
And besides, people who put actual effort into their levels, wether they are good or bad, will very likely need more than just one day (unless they decide to do some kind of happy wheels marathon, which is probably not a very good idea).
By armygamerofwar on April 10, 2017
Also an option to pay in order to increase the level post limit would be great. It would allow people who make levels all the time be able to make more and it would give the website another source of revenue.
By armygamerofwar on April 10, 2017
If possible could you add the ability to remove injury to characters on pc as well. I plan on making a tutorial level for happy wheels parkour but the problem is people have to restart from the very beginning if they get injured.
By DutcHappyBoy on April 09, 2017
please make it so we can play it on Android PPPLLLEEEEAAASSSEEE

By Stromtrooper513 on April 08, 2017
Finally, you're working on an Android Port! That means I can probably play it on my tablet, but will it support Android 4.2.2?
When's the release date?
By OrangeKick on April 08, 2017
Nowadays , Everyone Is Making Stupid Level . E.G Pogo Jump , Pogo Fight , Sword Throw , Bottle Flip , Glass Break , Secret Glitches , Rope Swing That Have An Exact Model As The Other Level Does . And Some Other ... Stupidity .
By Bert on April 08, 2017
@DrEpicFetus: Sorry for the late response. Your art style is good, but most of your levels are pretty unoriginal and feel like the same stuff that's posted every 5 seconds. The marble race one was pretty good though.

From what I see, Android app store is a lot more easygoing so you might not have any trouble with rules and stuff. I don't know much about code, but it's probably time-consuming to rewrite the game in a completely different language. Can't wait for it's release on android :)
By MirzaDaBoss123 on April 07, 2017
Look, I know you guys are sick waiting for the PC update. But just wait. It takes Jim around 7 months-5 or less years because he has lots of C++ to do. Wish anybody could help, but listen. He manages the game individually. I know but, just be a couple more patient. I wouldn't hate on this game because I played this for yeaaars. And it is still great.
By LIRDCEMC on April 07, 2017
please update the WebGame with new characters :( this game not have a normal update for 4 years :(

The Happy Wheels Game Needs More Charicters
By armygamerofwar on April 03, 2017
@Tittarelli If you mean a checkpoint system I fully support this. My parkour maps I've been doing for my youtube channel use a checkpoint system so that I can make the maps longer. If they added a checkpoint system that used cookies to save your checkpoint data, the ability to make checkpoint characters (The character you place except the character has a number above their head for the checkpoint number or just a silhouette of the character with the number above them), and the option to load a checkpoint, then I could upload my fourth and fifth parkour maps so that people can play them if they decide to start doing parkour.
My youtube channel name is the same as this one if you want to see the checkpoint system I use (although I hope they add an official one so I can edit into and upload my maps).

For the next update is great if you could add a save point for when you create the levels.

STOP DEVELOPING IOS VERSION AND START UPDATING THE PC GAME NOW!! IM SICK OF WAITING, ALSO POST A VIDEO IF JIM IS STILL ALIVE!
By DrEpicFetus on March 19, 2017
@Bert, thanks for the response, I'll try to contact him that way soon.
One final question: Would you mabye like to give feedback on some of my levels? All these 9 yo kids dont understand the concept of that, so I ask people that know what they are doing.
Once again thanks and have an amazing day!
By Bert on March 18, 2017
@DrEpicFetus: The smaller community was great. I guess it's like any small community, where everyone gets along well since they have an interest in the same thing. You can contact Jim in the "About" section. Not sure if he'll ever see it as I'm sure he gets bombarded with hundreds of e-mails a day from kids begging for more characters.
By MehCool06 on March 18, 2017
Get an iOS device :-)
By DrEpicFetus on March 18, 2017
@Bert, I've known this game for over 5 years now, how was it when the community was smaller? Was everyone closer? I've tried to contact the creator to see if he was interested in my level idea's.
I put tens of hours into making levels in my spare time and i wanted toshow them what I am worth...
do you know how to reach them?
Btw, its amaing to see that there are still 'veteran' player here.
have a good day.
By Bert on March 16, 2017
I just got to thinking... I wonder if Jim ever misses the older, smaller community. I wonder if it affects him when he sees many of us long-time members state how bad the community is now, and how we rarely (if ever) actually play the game. Imagine having a great community become tarnished because it got taken over by kids and crappy clickbait YouTubers. Thing is, there's really nothing that can be done about this epidemic of kids ruining communities. So long as they roam the Internet, they'll plague sites.
By LWPeterson on March 16, 2017
This has become a sad place.
By IAmVeryBored on March 16, 2017
I haven't touched this game since forever. Eh, I guess it's better without me having to try to reason with the immature. Thank God I decided to make video game mods for a community THAT ISN'T INFESTED WITH KIDS. I'm not telling you what that community is because I know for a fact that it'll quickly decline in quality for the same reason why HW is often frowned upon.

Please hurry on happy wheels to android
By Campbellino9 on March 13, 2017
yaay i will get happy wheels on android!
By Bert on March 12, 2017
Hey don't forget me, I was there too. The forums were alright depending on where you went. The character suggestion section was pretty bad and full of the same stuff that plagues the comments today ("plz mak sk8bord kid"). Then when user-made groups started existing the forum was spammed with them. Aside from that, it was alright. Bringing it back now wouldn't work because it would be nothing but "moar cariktur" threads and "plz subsrik 2 my hapy weels lets play channel", as well as users complaining about anything they can nitpick about. It just wouldn't be as nice.
By Killer Cheese on March 11, 2017
People still remember the forums? I thought I was the only person still around who was actually here when they existed.
By Street_Sense702 on March 10, 2017

OK, so I'm sorry that I "complained" about the blog update taking too long. I understand that Jim has a life, and that progress is expectedly slow, but you don't say that he'll update it "soon", and then not give any form of update whatsoever for 2-3 months. Lastly, I personally don't often think this, but when it comes to blog updates, quantity over quality. (Please don't get too mad about this comment, I have much respect for Jim for not already dropping this game a long time ago.)
By CONNORY2002 on March 06, 2017
Here's what's happening.. some people say this blog update takes too long. Someone trying to protect Jim and fucking WW3 breaks out.
